Young Voices Tour 2022

It was incredible to be back as part of the 25 years celebration of Young Voices 2022. To reunite with so many incredible musicians and friendly faces as well as being greeted every day with the noise and energy of 8000 different children from schools across UK. We taught nearly 170,000 children and 170,000 audience members over 24 dates at O2 London, Wembley Arena, Birmingham Genting, Sheffield and Manchester arenas how to beatbox... and did the biggest beatbox battle in the world!! Getting all the children to beatbox battle against their parents. We don’t need to say who won, it goes without saying! We mixed up a 4 member line up between 5 of us across the tour (Ball-Zee, Bass6, Experimental, Hobbit and MC Zani).

We also collaborated with an old friend from previous Young Voices tour, the incredible Laura Wright who was 8 months pregnant and belting out Fly to Paradise at the Wembley arena (just one night after singing the walk in song for Tyson Fury at Wembley Stadium). Needless to say this number went off and to perform alongside Laura was a powerful experience, combining classical with something beatboxing on the big stage - what a moment. We also had all the fun and dynamics working with the outstanding human that is Violinist Anna Phoebe. We collaborated on a piece specifically for the children with a bit of Harry Potter into Vivaldi Drum n Bass - all the frequencies were hit and again brought a brand new show never done before with the violin and beatbox mix! There was still space for story time and we all got into character as we beatboxed along to MC Grammar for his rap rendition of The Gruffalo and took the crowd on a Bear hunt! We love theatrics and this was instantly enjoyable and great vibes with MC Grammar. We hope this was just the first chapter in our beatbox storytelling adventures.

Huge love goes to the entire YV team from production to performers with Saucery catering looking after us all daily, with the love, smiles and food they prep, every day is simply an outstanding energy and team to be part of.

Oh and super excited to announce that we will be joining the Young Voices tour once again in January - February 2023 :)
